In the series ‘I Have My Eye On‘, I share my favourite finds for my little girl.
[SPONSORED POST*] Faith has been drooling quite a bit since her first tooth sprouted. The pearlies just keep on coming! She suffers from minor eczema on parts of her face, and while we generally can keep it under control, it worsens when she is teething because of the drool that dribbles down her chin.
I do let her wear bibs when we are out and about, and they save me the trouble of lugging yet another face cloth to wipe the saliva away, but they are often poorly designed (either too tight around the neck, or the neckline is too low and everything just slips right down her neck and clothes). Besides, the bibs I have seen are either plastered with garish cartoons (which I abhor…no offence), or are too plain for my liking. I also don’t give two hoots about bibs that are designed specifically for different genders; I like to keep things neutral. Yes, this mama isn’t easy to please. And yes, #firstworldproblem, I know.
Then, Rockabye Lane, an online children’s boutique based in Singapore, came to the rescue with Skibz Bibs! Designed by a mother in the UK, these bandana-style bibs are touted to be highly absorbent. I have tested them on Faith, when she is drooling, eating or drinking, for several weeks and am happy to report that they live up to their reputation! Her clothes are no longer wet from all the drool, and the bibs do a fantastic job of absorbing water that dribbles down her chin when she gets a little overzealous at drinking from her cup. The lining on the reverse side prevents liquids from soaking through too. The high, cowl neckline is not only stylish, it is most useful at preventing crap from slipping through the ‘neck-hole’ down to her clothes, and this is really great for keeping her neck clean and dry. No more redness or rashes along her neck folds!
Rockabye Lane has been very generous with Faith, and has given her five bibs. I chose a variety of designs to mix and match with her clothes. Here are my picks: multispots, denim (featured in photos above), organic baby blue, gingham, and red & blue stars (also featured). They are gender-neutral, oh-so-easy to match with, and all Skibz Bibs come with two fastenings to accommodate a growing child. Even though they are priced at S$20 a pop, I don’t consider them expensive as they are so well-made, highly functional, and well, they look really good on the bub! I am getting a lot of mileage out of these bibs and am very happy that they look good as new even though I have washed them many times. High-quality stuff that I recommend to all parents!
